I was listening to an interview with Nancy Patricia Pelosi, the Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives. I think she is accurate in saying ‘my colleagues in the Republican Party do not believe in government, so they are basically trying to dismantle any public role in clean air, clean water, education, infrastructure, etc.’ (not an exact quote) I view these people as dangerous anarchists, but she is correct in saying that they are acting out of their convictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The surrender of the mainstream Republican Party to Trump will be a matter of political and even psychological analysis for decades to come. It is the transformation of a party into a cult. It is the triumph of hatred \u2014 of the left, of elites, of immigrants from s-hole countries \u2014 over principle.
