Wharton & Fitzgerald

I read multiple books at the same time, the real strange part of this is jumping from century to century, as in the 19th to the 20th. This Edith Wharton book ‘Age of Innocence’ takes place in old New York c 1870. Another book I was listening to by F. Scott Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise, which is in WW1 era old New York, only about 50 years later. Funny. In the sort of constricted milieu of Fitzgerald, you can see vestiges of the 1870s when they were even more uptight.
